Our Analysis & Ratings
An excellent kayak that performs well in the water. There is good storage space, it's easy to manoeuvre and great fun to paddle. The solid all Tech-Stitch (Razor Kayaks’ proprietary engineered drop stitch) design and removable fin provide all the best elements of a traditional kayak. We had so much fun in this one that this is our pick of the lot.
Performance - This was one of the things we loved about this kayak. Probably the fastest of all the inflatable kayaks we tested, the solid walls and floor and removable fin design were great. Handling was easy as well.
Construction - There has clearly been a lot of thought go into the construction of this kayak and it shows. The full Tech-Stitch and 1000 denier PVC make it tough and provide a hard surface that glides through the water. There is great storage space and plenty of room on board.
Setup/Pack down - Sets up and packs down quickly with 3 inflation points all close together. Given the PVC is strong enough to not need to be covered in other fabrics it's also able to dry off quickly which is a massive plus.
Portability - Lightweight at 12.9kg this is easy to get around and comes with a bag that has shoulder straps. If we’re being really picky, the bag is slightly oversized - on the plus side that means there’s room for pump, paddle and maybe even camping gear, but if you’re only carrying the kayak you will need to fold the top of the bag over.
Comfort - We loved the open cockpit - you’re not jammed in and you get a bit of extra space for your gear. The solid frame provides a good surface to paddle against. Has a good quality seat as well.
Overall - Excellent performance all around.
