Our Analysis & Ratings

We love the stability and comfort of this kayak. It also has some great storage for taking it on an overnight trip. Our main issues are the setup/ pack down and speed in the water. We really noticed the width and it was a bit hard to manoeuvre this kayak around. Still a decent entry-level option and for the price it's pretty good value.

Performance - While the speed in a straight line isn't that bad we found it tended to drift a lot. There is a fin but it's not enough to compensate for the design. Handling is a challenge as the width makes it hard to paddle. Overall this is quite a stable kayak though.

Construction - This is a basic PVC kayak with strong ripstop polyester covering. It's well constructed but lacks the quality finish and firmness of some of the high end kayaks.

Setup/Pack down - Fairly easy to inflate but does have mismatched valves, so having to switch pump parts results in a longer process. The floor has a drainage hole which saves you from having to tip the whole thing over to get water out, but the materials used do take a while to dry in the pack down process.

Portability - Fairly lightweight and compact at 12.4kg. This will easily sit in your boot ready to go for the next kayaking trip or fit neatly in storage however it does sacrifice a bit of quality to drop the weight.

Comfort - Strong comfortable seat and great enclosed cockpit that we could happily sit in for hours. Decent storage space as well for longer trips.

Overall - Beginner friendly and comfortable, just hard to dry.
